My story
I am Johan. In my career, three things have always been guiding principles: organizational psychology, entrepreneurship, and technology. For a long time, they ran in parallel. With New Standards, I try to bring them all together.
With my background in organizational psychology, I have always been driven by one question: how do you help people reach their full potential? That question led me to HR Tech, where I have worked for more than ten years on solutions that help people end up in the right place and develop themselves. Technology as a lever to make that possible at scale.
Beyond that, I have always been an entrepreneur by nature. I love conceiving and building new concepts. From a concept development agency to my own barbershop. That entrepreneurial spirit has never let me go. With New Standards, I am now giving that a new form, but as a partner for other entrepreneurs.
What I’ve seen over all those years: good technology was out of reach for small business owners for a long time. Cheap SaaS solves generic problems, but rarely yours. Custom software is exactly what a small business needs, but always out of reach. And in the meantime, entrepreneurship is lonely. Many entrepreneurs simply miss having someone who really thinks along with them.
That is changing now. AI has drastically lowered the barrier to custom solutions. What used to be reserved for large companies is now within reach of every entrepreneur.
New Standards was born from what I’ve learned about people, entrepreneurship, and technology. Thinking strategically along with entrepreneurs and making custom technology accessible to them. To help them get the best out of themselves and their business.
